About Lora Mercado

Lora Mercado My photography depicts how I am drawn to the nostalgia of the past. I find beauty and fascination in historic cemeteries. There are so many stories buried under the ornate graves of long ago. With each photo I take, I strive to evoke feelings of wonder, as to who the graves belonged to and how did they live and die.

I have a large collection of black and white cemetery photos from my region that are quite mysterious and thought provoking. My collection from the Veteran�s Memorial is also one that gives the viewer a sense of feeling. My rural images collection is a peaceful representation of Midwestern life, featuring rustic barns and farmlands. The collection of nature photos that I have taken capture moments of natural habitat.

Digital art, abstract painting and collage are another love of mine. All pieces featured on this site are copies of original artwork I have created.

My goal is to draw the viewer�s mind into the scene I am presenting, no matter what the subject matter may be.
